Christmas Ideas for a Guest Bedroom

Hello all, and happy Monday to you. I had a great day on Thanksgiving spending time with family and friends. I hope you did too. The Christmas season is in full swing, and boy am I excited!
This week I have a guest bedroom makeover that will make your holiday guest want to extend their stay. Read on.......

Each year I try to incorporate touches of Christmas in every room. This is how I decorated my orange and brown room and it's been a big hit with my holiday guest.

Touches of Christmas were added to the curtains and the curio.

Here, bows were used as an inexpensive alternative for tiebacks.

This bow used as a tieback is a simple but elegant touch you can use in any room of your home. Be creative it doesn't have to be a bow, you could use ornaments, florals, lollipops, candy canes, or whatever you like.

The curio displays one of my favorite ornaments, and gifts that I have been given over the years. It is also used to store towels and much needed items for guest.

Believe it or not, this tabletop tree is really a tomato cage in disguise. Here's how I assembled it. First, I wrapped the cage with garland and strung the lights. I used floral wire to keep the garland and lights in place. Next, I added the gold ribbon and the ornaments and lastly, the bow was used as the topper.

The bow serves two purposes, as a topper and a cover to hide the wire of the tomato cage. If you look closely in the center of the bow you can see the wire from the cage. When doing your tree make sure the wire is out of sight. (oops)

I really love how this room turned out. A word of caution when your guests arrive make sure they know when it's time to CHECK OUT or they may never want to leave!!! (lol)

Thanks for stopping by!

A Winter Wonderland

Hello and happy Monday. I know that this week is going to be a very busy week for most of us, because Thanksgiving is just a few days away. And Friday will quick off  the Christmas season and boy am I excited!.....
Today I have a transformation that I think you are going to love.

This is a picture of my office and I can describe it in to words HOT MESS, but take a look at how I transformed it (office) into a Winter Wonderland. ENJOY!

The first thing I did was wrapped the door. I enjoy doing this because it's quick and oh so simple.

Next, I brought in lots of gold and white fabric and bows. The wreath is several floral sprays that were formed into a circle. The bow was added to cover where the sprays were connected. I love how it turned out.

I found this gold and white fabric at Walmart several years ago it is one of my favorite fabrics to use during the Holiday Season.

Can you believe that this cute little angel ornament came form the Dollar Tree? I purchased several of them to be used on and around the Christmas Tree. Enjoy the pics!

It's beginning to look a lot like .....

Okay, Okay, I hate to break it to you but Christmas is less than six weeks away. I know we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet but it's time to get the Christmas ball rolling.  I have a really simple project to get you in the mood if you aren't already, but before we get started you have to see my granddaughters Christmas Tree.

This is Zsa Zsa"s girl, isn't she cute? She is only three years old and she decorated her Christmas Tree about three weeks ago. In addition, she has already made her Christmas list. Her excitement is so contagious it puts me in the Christmas spirit. Now for the project.....

Every year I decorate my interior doors to make them look like wrapped gifts. I found this peacock ribbon at Hobby Lobby last year for 50% off and I really really liked it, so I decided to use it for this project. Here's what I did to achieve this look. I started by unwinding the ribbon from the spool and then I stapled it together on the back side of  the door. Easy, Easy, Easy.

Next, I glued a piece of cardboard onto the front and back of the ribbon to give the ribbon  some much needed stability. The cardboard will come in handy when I apply the floral spray.

This is a closeup of the ribbon, I love the rich colors and all the intricate details.

Once the cardboard was in place I added the floral spray along with some floral wire. I ran the wire through the spray and wrapped it around both pieces of the cardboard. This keeps the ribbon from folding and it also helps hold the weight of the floral spray in place.

I purchased the Peacock ornament from Walmart for about $1.97 and I used it to cover the stem.

This project would be a great conversation starter for your Holiday guest. Enjoy the pics and Happy Holiday Decorating!!!!

A look at what's been going on lately.

Hello everyone and Happy Monday, I hope your weekend was great.

And speaking of Halloween, this is Zsa Zsa"s girl ( my grandbaby) she was so excited about her costume that I just had to post this pic. She is the cutest little cat I know. (ahhhhh)

We also celebrated my youngest 18th birthday. My how time flies.

Can you believe that this is the same kid?  Well, it is and I am one PROUD Momma!
We Love You G. There were several things that went on last month, but these two events were the most memorable to me.

Since we had such a hectic month My husband and I spent Sunday afternoon at Historic Bok Tower Gardens taking pictures and spending some much needed quality time together.

I love this quote By Edward W. Bok, the founder of Bok Tower Gardens.

That's me, animal print blouse and all taking pictures. Some of the pics taken will be used in my living room makeover.  Didn't get any pics with hubby he was too busy taking pictures of the beautiful scenery. (maybe next time)  Enjoy the pics!
